Mitchell first played for Thackley AFC in 2018, and regularly appeared up until his departure in the 2021/2022 season, making 57 appearances and scoring 17 goals in that period, including some spectacular efforts.

Mitchell since his departure has most recently played at Yorkshire Amateurs, where he played last season, and impressed in a centre midfield role when he returned to Dennyfield.

Joint Manager Danny Forrest had the following to say:

"We are delighted that Asa has returned to Thackley AFC. He was impressive last year when we came up against him playing for Yorkshire Amateurs, and I had received good reports on his performances from other managers in the league when he had played against some of our divisional rivals. It could be a very good time for Asa to join us. He's young enough to develop significantly but he's also had a couple of years to go experience different environments and he'll only be better for that."
