It is with sadness that Thackley announce that ex player Dave Waddington has passed away in hospital in Australia after a long battle with cancer.
The news of Dave's passing came via Peter Glover who was Thackley's Manager at the time he played for the club.
Dave, a centre half, played for the club in the 1960's and 1970. He played his last first team game on the 3rd May 1970 at Wombwell, Thackley lost the game 1-0.
The photograph shows the Thackley team that played in the West Riding County Challenge Cup Final in 1964 beating Fryston Colliery 3-1. Dave is second from left on the back row.

Thackley sends its condolences to Dave's wife Val and all his family.
