Richard was a lifelong player, committee person and supporter of Thackley, making his debut for the club in Division Two of the Yorkshire League on the 19th August 1967 at Harrogate Town. After his playing days were over, he went on to serve the club in a number of roles until his passing last month.

Richard’s funeral will be held on Thursday 26th June 2025 at Holy Trinity Church Idle at 1.00pm. This will be followed with a short service at Shay Grange Crematorium at 2.15pm. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, can be made to Marie Curie.

Please note that following the Church service, you are welcome to join at Arthur’s Bar at Thackley AFC, Dennyfield, where you will be able to toast Richard’s life amongst his family and friends.
