Thackley AFC can confirm that winger Aidan Chippendale is set to miss an extended period due to a fracture of his ankle and ruptured ankle ligaments. Chippendale sustained the injury during our recent defeat to Silsden AFC when he was challenged in the opposition penalty box with the scores level at 1-1.
Unfortunately, scans have revealed that the injury is serious and Chippendale will undergo surgery to repair the injury later today.
Chippendale, sponsored again this season by The Ainsbury Micro Pub, scored 24 goals for Thackley AFC last season contributing many more assists, and his loss will no doubt be a big blow.
The Club will continue to support the player during this period and for his rehabilitation, and all at the Club wish Aidan well with the surgery today, as we are sure the wider non-league football family will as well.
