RIP Brian Kay

Brian Kay who played for Thackley in the 1960s and 1970s, has sadly passed away.

Thackley FC were saddened to receive news from Darren Kay that his father Brian died peacefully on Monday 12 Sep. Darren said in his message that Brian never stopped talking about Thackley and loved the club to the day he died.
Brian made his Thackley debut in 1966 and helped the club lift 6 trophies in his first 2 seasons
He went on to win further trophies throughout his career with Thackley including 2 West Riding County Cup victories in 1974 and 1975. Richard Paley who also played in the County Cup winning teams, commented that it was such a sad loss with many happy memories of a great player and a trusted friend.
Brian retired to Australia and he is pictured here with his wife Susan.
Our condolences are extended to Susan, Darren and all of their family and friends.
RIP Brian.
