It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of life long Thackley player, committee person and supporter Richard Paley.

Richard started playing for Thackley from leaving school in the mid sixties under manager Peter Glover, when Thackley were in the Yorkshire League.

After his playing days were over, he acted as ‘bagman’ for Jim McKay when Thackley entered the Northern Counties East League.

He continued to be actively involved with the club until he passed away earlier this week on 20th May.

The thoughts of all are with Richard and his family.
