Thackley AFC are delighted to confirm that, following an invitation from the Club, First Team Manager Jamie Price and Assistant Manager Josh Walsh have committed their futures to the Dennyboys and will remain in charge of the management team for not only the remainder of this season, but for 2026/2027 as well.
The duo arrived at the Club during the summer of 2025 at a time of significant change for Thackley AFC. With a new chapter beginning both on and off the pitch, Price and Walsh were tasked with rebuilding and reshaping the squad in a short space of time. Since their arrival, they have worked tirelessly to assemble a competitive side built around youth, technical ability, and a clear desire to represent the Club with pride.
While the current season has brought its share of challenges alongside encouraging progress, the Club’s leadership has been clear in its belief that the foundations laid over recent months provide a strong platform for the future. A young and talented squad has now gained invaluable experience of NCEL Premier Division football, experience that will prove crucial as the team continues to develop and push forward in the seasons ahead.
Speaking on behalf of the Club, Chairman Ben Oliver said:
“We are absolutely delighted that Jamie and Josh have agreed to continue leading the team into next season. They came into Thackley during a period of huge transition and have shown tremendous commitment, professionalism, and resilience throughout. The work they have done to build a competitive, youthful squad in such a short time has been outstanding, and their positive attitude—particularly in difficult circumstances—has been a real credit to both themselves and the Club.
We firmly believe the foundations they have put in place this season give us something strong to build upon, and we are excited to see the continued development of this talented group of players with another year of NCEL Premier Division experience behind them.”
Manager Jamie Price added:
“I’m really pleased to be continuing the journey with Thackley AFC. From the moment Josh and I arrived, we’ve felt supported by everyone connected with the Club, and we’re proud of the progress that’s been made both on and off the pitch. There’s still plenty of hard work ahead, but we truly believe in the direction we’re heading and the potential within this young squad. We’re excited for what next season can bring and can’t wait to keep building.”
