Thackley played their second pre-season friendly on Sunday, again on Marley's artificial surface, against West Riding County Amateur side, Ovenden WR. Like Saturday's friendly against Barnoldswick Town, the squad included a number of trialists and young players.

Thackley took an early lead when NICKY MATTHEWS found the top corner with a shot from the edge of the box on six minutes. This lead was doubled half way through the first period when MARK BETT got his head to Enrique Luis's perfectly flighted cross. Ovenden replied before the break, when following some good build up work, Jordan Cordujry beat Mark Bower from close range. Ovenden brought the scores level after the break when Bower was deceived following a free kick, Cordujry netting for the second time.

With two matches over the weekend, Dave and Lee have had the opportunity to play twenty nine players from the squad, not only has this given quite a few some match practice but has given the management team a chance to assess some of the new faces.
