Thackley's first friendly of the season was away at Durham City on their 3G pitch. Two mistakes cost the Dennyboys the match in a pretty evenly contested encounter.
1st Goal 14 mins - Short throw by Caris to Mackie who was easily caught in possession. Winger knocked ball inside and Callum Hope scored with a good shot inside right hand upright.
2nd Goal 32 mins - Hargreaves played needless pass across field into path of on coming forward and Durham's Steven Stewart scored easily. Both goals could have been avoided. Trueman hit post and Luke Hudson blazed the rebound over which was Thackley's best chance. Second half there were very few chances as both teams made substitutions. The best chance falling to Durham but was well saved by Caris with his legs.
