Macron NCEL Premier Division- Saturday 13th December 2025- Kick Off 3.00pm
Match Preview by Cayden Sands
Overview:
Thackley return to the road when they travel to Knaresborough Town in the NCEL Premier Division.
Following last week’s loss to Frickley Athletic, the team will be eager to make things right and get back to winning ways against a strong opposition.
The game also represents the chance of a debut for new signing James Knowles, with the defender having joined the club earlier this week.
The Opposition:
Since the NCEL League Cup meeting between the sides, Knaresborough have picked up some more positive results.
These include a fantastic 6-0 win against Frickley and a 2-1 triumph against Albion Sports.
However, some results have been less positive, including a loss against Campion AFC by a 2-0 scoreline and a 3-1 defeat against Horbury Town.
Key Players:
Goals haven’t been hard to score for Knaresborough, with the top goal scorer being former Thackley player Slater Barnes, who has managed nine goals in the league.
Meanwhile, Jack Dyche isn’t much further behind him, with him having six league goals to his name
Previous Meeting:
The previously mentioned NCEL League Cup meeting between Knaresborough and Thackley was an exciting game for the neutral, with there being a total of six goals in a 4-2 win for Knaresborough.
Despite Alex Washington and Luke Brooks efforts helping the Dennyboys equalise twice, goals from Luke Stewart, Ben Gelder and Barnes proved to be pivotal, securing the victory for the hosts.
