West Riding County Cup - Tuesday 30th September 2025 - Kick-Off 7.45pm
Match Preview by Cayden Sands
Overview:
Thackley’s West Riding County Cup campaign begins on Tuesday evening when they travel to Northern Premier League East side Ossett United.
The Dennyboys come into this game following their 0-0 draw with Golcar United at the weekend, which adds another point to their league tally.
This game also represents a much different test for the team, with them having nothing to lose against a side from a higher division, giving everyone in the team a chance to prove themselves going forward.
The Opposition:
In a rare competitive meeting between the two sides, Thackley will be welcomed to Ingfield Stadium by Ossett United.
Since their founding in 2019 when Ossett Town and Ossett Albion merged, the ‘Ramicorns’ have maintained their status in the Northern Premier League’s Division One, with them now occupying a place in the East division.
Now currently sat in 16th place in the division, the side have picked some good results throughout the season so far, including a 1-0 victory over Newton Aycliffe, alongside a West Yorkshire derby triumph against Brighouse Town, who they defeated by a 3-0 scoreline.
Ground Description and Directions:
The Ingfield Stadium is one of West Yorkshire’s historic football grounds, with its status being elevated in recent years after it hosted a number of West Riding County Cup finals.
