The Dennyboys managed a late comeback thanks to goals from Reuben Bartkiw and Lewis Sugden, with the side winning 2-1 against Albion Sports in the Emirates FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.
For the home side, Josh Owen made the starting XI for the first time this
season.
Thackley had an early chance with Joe Kell finding space down the wing, but his cross went over the bar. Following this, a ball was played over the top to Mick Jones, but the linesman called for offside.
Albion managed to earn themselves a corner, but the Dennyboys managed to clear it away.
The away side then had a free kick from a late challenge from Kam Basi, but nothing came from it.
The Dennyboys then managed to defend well and sustain the pressure from the away side, with Albion Sports having four corners in quick succession.
The away side then had a free kick from the edge of the box and laid the ball off to a fellow yellow shirt, but he blasted his shot over the bar.
Jones managed to win the flick on, but the keeper beat Owen to the ball.
The number nine then played a through ball in search of Owen, but the Albion defender comfortably managed to intercept the pass.
Bobby Isbell then went on an amazing run from the halfway line and found Jones, but the number nine was in an offside position.
Albion then won a corner and Thackley managed to clear, but it fell to a player in a yellow shirt, who then placed his ambitious effort over the bar and away.
In the 24th minute, a cross from Luke Brooks found Jones, but the keeper managed to tip the header from Jones over the bar for a corner to the Dennyboys.
The Dennyboys then had a short corner, but Albion managed to clear it away.
Thackley then had a further chance in quick succession with a cracking cross from out wide finding Owen in the box, but he placed his header just wide from six yards out.
Basi then found Isbell out wide, but he was tackled by the Albion defender, and it resulted in a goal kick to the away side.
Albion then took a quick free kick, and nothing came from it before they would then play a ball over the top, but the linesman called for offside.
Following this, Emerson Cox picked up the first yellow card of the game.

The Dennyboys found Isbell out wide and managed to send a cross into the box, but Albion cleared it away.
Then there was a pause in the game due to an Albion player down with a head
injury, halting the momentum of both teams.
Just before half-time, the Dennyboys had a corner, but Albion managed to clear it away.
Following this, Albion looked to go on the counterattack, but the referee would then blow his whistle to bring the half to an end, with Albion arguably being the better side, but the Dennyboys did have a number of chances as they grew into the game.

The second half started evenly with both sides working hard, but neither side was able to create a goal-scoring opportunity.
Albion Sports attempted a long throw-in, but the Dennyboys managed to clear it away.
Thackley then took a free kick from the halfway line in search of Kell, but the away side cleared it away.
In the 55th minute, Albion Sports then earned themselves a free kick from just after the halfway line, and it found Aron Basi, but his header just went wide.
Kell then sent a ball into the box from out wide, but Harrison Smith managed to command his area and claim the ball.
Following this, Jay Buchan for Albion picked up a yellow card for a shirt pull. Then the away side cleared away the free kick from the Dennyboys.
In the 63rd minute, Albion Sports made the first change of the game with Buchan being replaced by Junior Nasihunu.
Additionally, the Dennyboys made a triple change with Owen, Olaf Figurny and Kell being replaced by Sugden, Bartkiw and Hass Gorji.
Shortly after the changes, Albion took the lead, only for it to be pulled back by the linesman for offside.
The Dennyboys then earned a corner, but the Albion defence managed to clear it away.
Bartkiw then drove down the wing and beat the defender, but the away side managed to clear his ball away.
The hosts then had a big chance in the 69th minute from a long throw-in that found Gorji, who attempted an overhead kick which hit the post and was cleared away by
Albion Sports.
The away side would then make a change with Zackary Sangster being replaced by Sumaili Cissa.
Albion then had a free kick at the edge of the box, but Jones managed to clear the ball away.
In the 76th minute, Kam Basi committed a late challenge on the edge of the box, which led to the away side having a big chance from a well-struck free kick which was destined for the top corner, but Liam Wilson pulled off a cracking save.
Following this, Brooks picked up a yellow card for a late challenge. The Dennyboys then defended well with Albion having two corners in quick succession.
Jamie Price decided to freshen up his side in the 79th minute with Isbell being replaced by Paul Walker.
The away side then won a penalty in a crowded penalty area in the 82nd minute, and number seven Talent Ndlovu slotted the penalty away to give Albion the lead late on.
With six minutes remaining, Albion attempted a long throw-in, but the Dennyboys managed to stand strong and clear it away to prevent Albion from extending their lead.
Following this, Albion made a further change with Lewis Waddington being replaced by Nicholas Hepple.
The Dennyboys then found the equaliser in the 89th minute with Bartkiw beating the Albion defenders to the ball and heading the ball into the back of the net.
Cox then received a second yellow card for the away side, which left Albion with ten men.
In stoppage time, Albion then committed a late challenge in the box, and the Dennyboys won themselves a penalty.
Sugden managed to slot the ball into the bottom right corner, and Thackley took the lead.
Despite going 1-0 down, the Dennyboys showed great team spirit and character as they managed to make a late comeback to book their place in the draw for the next round.
