Thackley AFC travel to the Office Interiors Stadium on Tuesday as the Dennyboys face Silsden AFC as and look to build on last week’s hard-fought victory against Pickering Town FC.
Thackley AFC are itching to get back into action after last Tuesdays strong performance at home to Pickering Town FC saw the side take 2-0 victory with two late goals from Greaves and Green. Greaves finished clinically with a traditional goal from the joint manager as he rolled his man and finished high into the roof of the net, and Green secured the 3 points in stoppage time as he finished brilliantly into the top left corner. Unfortunately, Green picked up a second yellow card of the game after the goal which will see him suspended for this encounter.
Silsden AFC come into the game after last time out having taken a 1-0 victory against Rossington Main with a first half goal from Casey Stewart enough to seal the win, ‘The Cobbydalers’ picking up the first 3 points of the season despite a red card just before half time for Dominic Craig.
At this very early stage of the season Silsden AFC find themselves in 12th place, and Thackley AFC currently on sit in 6th place, moving up a position at the weekend despite not having a game due to results elsewhere. With Silsden AFC investing heavily in a squad that saw them bring in this summer the likes of Kyle Trenerry in net, Ross Daly, Adam Clayton, Casey Stewart, T’Nique Fishley, Chris Lever and Kayle Price, it will no doubt be a tough test for the Dennyboys.
Thackley AFC lost out in the corresponding fixture last season despite taking the lead through Chippendale on the 24th minute. Ellis Hudson equalised for the home side 10 minutes into the second half before Luke Brooksbank sealed victory with a strike a couple of minutes later.
We hope to see you at the Office Interiors Stadium tomorrow night for the first Bradford derby of the season - Kick off is at 7.45pm.
