With a week to rest after a last minute cancellation by Knarsborough, Thackley found themselves back on home soil. It took until the 7th minute for any real danger to occur when Lucy Preston found space behind the Bradford defence only to find her shot sail narrowly over the bar. This was followed shortly after by Demi Godson also finding the bar with a 30 yard effort. However it was Bradford who gained the lead in the 36th minute when their striker found themselves in space behind the defenders to make it 0-1 City. Thackley responded with another long range effort, this time Beth Davies hitting the post from 35 yards out. Just before the half time whistle Bradford broke again to make it 0-2.
Thackley started much brighter in the second half and in the 48th minute halved the deficit when Davies found Godson with a pinpoint through ball and Godson found the back of the net with her left foot. Godson was once again one on one with the keeper on the 55th minute but the keeper made a brilliant save only for the rebound to fall to the feet of Chelsea Morton who made no mistake and levelled the scores. With the tide of the game changing, Thakley played some clever passes in midfield before feeding Davies through to push Thackley into a 3-2 lead. The rest of the second half was all Thackley possession with chances for Yasmin Senior in the 78th minute whose shot was bound for the top corner only to find it tipped wide by the goalkeeper and the resulting corner Faye Boshell with an audacious overhead kick which narrowly went wide.
