Thackley Ladies arrived at their penultimate away game of the league season knowing that victory would secure them the Division One Title. The sun was even out for the occasion and it certainly seemed to help the Dennygirls who started with a fire in their bellies. Rosie Gill worked hard during the third minute on the right hand side to create space and cut back to Bethany Davies on the edge of the area but her first time effort went the wrong side of the post. Barely a minute later an effort from Molly Ellis again found the wrong side of the other post this time after she received a cushioned header from Rachael White. With the pressure building it seemed like only a matter of time before the breakthrough came, and it came in the 8th minute when Ellis wound in and out of the Bradford City defense and cut the ball back to Zoe Roberts to fire into the bottom corner. It was almost 2-0 a couple of minutes later when Sophie Moulden took aim from distance but was foiled by that pesky crossbar. In the 15th minute Gill won the ball back from a Bradford attack deep in the Thackley half and ran brilliantly through the Bradford defence to be one on one with the goalkeeper who got down well to prevent her. With Thackley Ladies having the lion's share of possession chances were coming thick and fast, Roberts firing just over in the 20th minute, who then a few minutes later received an inch perfect cross field diagonal ball from Kayley Hird but Roberts again was denied by the ‘keeper. Hird would be in limelight not long after when a Bradford City player was judged to have handled in the area, Hird stepped up and fired the ball into the top corner to bring the scoreline up to 2-0 at half time.
It looked like it would be 3-0 early in the second half when Yasmin Senior, on the hunt for her first goal this season, received the ball kindly in the area but her effort was mere inches over the bar. It was 3-0 though in the 57th minute when a perfect Roberts corner was met by a perfectly timed run from Moulden who headed underneath the bar and got on the scoresheet. Lucy Preston in the 60th minute provided a nicely weighted pass through to Senior again, her effort seemingly about to nestle in the bottom corner but the Bradford City ‘keeper managed to get a toe to it and prevent her. In the 79th minute The Dennygirls secured their title, Ellis fed the ball to Victory Chinweuba who had all the work still to do, her back to goal she effortlessly rolled the defender, rushed through on goal and found the bottom corner with her shot to secure not only a 4-0 Victory, but a birthday goal for herself and in turn the Division One Title.
