Thackley came out firing, registering 13 shots in the opening 20 minutes and taking a deserved lead through Emily Senior. The hosts controlled possession and tempo throughout the first half but were unable to extend their advantage.
Against the run of play, Knaresborough equalised in the first half with a long-range effort that caught the Thackley defence off guard. They soon took the lead and controversially added a third through a blatant offside goal.
Thackley responded with determination, and Olivia Auker pulled one back to make it 3–2. Despite a series of late tactical changes and continued pressure, the home side couldn’t find the equaliser.
A frustrating result for Thackley, who will take heart from their attacking display and look to bounce back in their next fixture.
