Thackley AFC Women will have some special guests alongside them this Sunday when the team takes to the pitch, as members of the Thackley AFC Under-14 Girls squad join them as matchday mascots.
The Under-14s enjoyed an excellent season last year, securing promotion to Division 4, and they have continued that positive momentum with a strong start to their new campaign.
The young side has become well known for its ‘never give up’ attitude, with the players demonstrating tremendous determination, commitment and teamwork both on and off the pitch. They continue to support and encourage each other, showing the team spirit that is at the heart of grassroots football.
Everyone involved with the Under-14s is incredibly proud of what the girls have achieved so far, and the coaching staff are looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings and what this talented group can accomplish.
For Thackley AFC Women, supporting the Under-14s is about more than simply celebrating their achievements. The girls represent the future of the club and, one day, some of these young players could walk out at Dennyfield as senior Thackley AFC Women players themselves.
The Women’s team and staff are proud to support the next generation of female footballers at Thackley and are committed to encouraging young players to enjoy their football, develop their skills and, hopefully, continue their journey through the club.
This Sunday, the Under-14 girls will have the chance to experience matchday alongside the senior Women’s team – and who knows, we may one day see them walking out as first-team players.
