Thackley AFC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former player Albert Chippendale, who has died following a courageous battle with illness. Albert was a valued member of the Club during the late 1980s and early 1990s, and his connection to Thackley AFC forms part of a proud family legacy that spans generations.
Albert was one of three Chippendale brothers to wear the Thackley shirt, standing alongside Trevor and Brian in contributing to an era remembered fondly by supporters and former teammates alike. Their commitment, passion, and loyalty helped shape the spirit of the Club both on and off the pitch.
That legacy continued into recent years through Albert’s son, Aidan Chippendale, who represented Thackley AFC between 2022 and 2024. Aidan carried forward the family name with the same dedication and love for the game that his father displayed decades earlier, creating a special link between past and present generations.
Albert will be remembered not only as a hardworking and respected footballer, but also as a warm and well-liked figure around the Club—someone whose presence brought genuine camaraderie and whose contribution will not be forgotten.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Chippendale family at this difficult time. Thackley AFC is proud to have been part of Albert’s life, and he will always remain a cherished part of our history.
Rest in peace, Albert.
